When it comes to comfort during flight, many travelers are finding a happy medium between the cramped quarters of economy class and the luxurious expanse (and expense) of business class. This middle ground is known as premium economy, and it’s offered by a host of airlines around the world. Here, we explore some of the airlines that are known for offering the best premium economy seats, providing passengers with enhanced comfort without breaking the bank.

Singapore Airlines sets a high bar with its Premium Economy Class. Featuring wider seats with more legroom, calf-rests, and foot-rests, each seat also boasts a 13.3-inch HD enable touch screen monitor complete with noise-cancelling headphones.

Air New Zealand’s premium economy offers one of the most spacious experiences with its Spaceseat™ that ensures no intrusion into your space. Coupled with in-flight perks such as premium check-in and a curated menu, flying across the Pacific becomes a pleasure rather than a chore.

Qantas Airways doesn’t skimp on space or service in its premium economy. With ergonomically designed seats that feature a headrest with built-in neck support and ample legroom, Qantas has brought sophistication and premium service to longer-haul flights.

Virgin Atlantic is another top contender, especially for those transatlantic flights where you might yearn for extra room. Its Premium cabin provides priority boarding, superior dining, and an amenity kit designed to add comfort to your journey.

Cathay Pacific’s take on premium economy features not only greater legroom but also a full-service experience that includes welcome drinks, larger meal tables, and additional in-flight entertainment options.

Lufthansa’s Premium Economy Class on its long-haul fleet is another winner offering up to 50% more room on board compared to regular Economy Class. Passengers also enjoy welcome drinks, enhanced baggage allowance and priority boarding.

These airlines showcase how the travel industry is adapting to provide more options to travelers looking for an upgrade from economy without soaring up to first or business class fares. As competition heats up and amenities improve, the golden age of flying gains new heights—for those who are willing to pay just a bit extra for their comfort miles above earth.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
