Children may not always be vocal about their feelings, but there are certain behaviors and signs that can indicate they’re feeling ignored. Recognizing these signs is crucial for addressing the issue and ensuring children feel valued and heard. Here are some common indicators your child might display if they feel neglected:

1.Withdrawn Behavior:A child who feels ignored may retreat into themselves, becoming quieter and less interactive than usual. They may stop seeking out company or show little interest in activities they previously enjoyed.

2.Attention-Seeking:In contrast, some children may exhibit behavior geared towards getting noticed, which can manifest as acting out or displaying unusual habits to draw attention.

3.Decline in Academic Performance:A sudden drop in grades or loss of interest in schoolwork can be a sign that a child isn’t receiving the attention they need, especially if they were performing well previously.

4.Changes in Eating or Sleeping Patterns:These could include sleeping more or less than usual or changes in appetite, indicating emotional distress possibly stemming from feeling ignored.

5.Increased Sensitivity:A child might become easily upset, cry more often, or show signs of insecurity if they feel neglected.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
