Add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to Your Vehicle for Under $100 With This Foldable Display

Adding modern technology to an older vehicle can drastically improve the driving experience, and two of the most sought-after features are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These systems bring the power of a smartphone to your car’s dashboard, offering an intuitive way to access maps, music, hands-free messaging, and more. But for many drivers with older or base-model cars, the absence of these systems is keenly felt. Fortunately, there’s an economical solution that doesn’t require a costly stereo upgrade: a foldable display that brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to any vehicle for under $100.

This display is a standalone device with a screen that ranges from 7 to 10 inches diagonally and easily attaches to your dashboard or windshield. The screen connects wirelessly or via USB to your smartphone, mirroring its interface. With a foldable design, it’s less invasive than permanent installations and can be tucked away when not in use.

Installation is straightforward:

1. Secure the display in your car using the mounting system provided.

2. Connect the foldable display to your car’s power source via a 12V adapter.

3. Pair your smartphone with the display through Bluetooth (for wireless connectivity) or use a USB cable.

4. Once connected, launch Apple CarPlay or Android Auto from your mobile device.

Many of these affordable displays offer touchscreen functionality, similar to what you’d find in modern cars with built-in CarPlay or Android Auto systems. Voice control is also available through your phone’s virtual assistant (like Siri for iPhones), allowing hands-free control while you keep your eyes on the road.

The obvious advantage of this setup is cost: traditional head units with CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities often cost several hundred dollars before installation fees. A foldable display eliminates those extra expenses while still providing many of the same benefits.

There are also considerations for maintaining the car’s original aesthetics for those who prefer not to have modern tech permanently embedded into their classic dashboards. Since this foldable display is not a permanent fixture, it appeals to both sets of drivers: those wanting modern tech without modifications and those planning on selling their vehicles without devaluing them with irreversible changes.

Moreover, for renters or users who frequently switch vehicles (e.g., rideshare drivers), this portability ensures that you can take your smart interface with you on the go.

In conclusion, technological convenience doesn’t have to come at a high price or with irreversible alterations to your vehicle’s interior design. With foldable displays now available for under $100 offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, you can enjoy state-of-the-art connectivity without breaking the bank or altering your car’s character permanently.
