Updating your iPhone on your computer is a great way to ensure that you have the latest software, features, and security updates. Here’s how to update your iPhone on your computer:

Step 1: Connect Your iPhone to Your Computer

Using your iPhone’s USB cable, connect your iPhone to your computer. Make sure that your computer is connected to the internet.

Step 2: Open iTunes

Once your iPhone is connected to your computer, open iTunes. If iTunes doesn’t open automatically, you can open it manually by clicking on the iTunes icon in your dock or by searching for it in your Applications folder.

Step 3: Select Your iPhone

In iTunes, you should see an icon for your iPhone in the upper left corner of the window. Click on this icon to select your iPhone.

Step 4: Check for Updates

Once you’ve selected your iPhone, click on the “Summary” tab in the main iTunes window. Here, you will see information about your iPhone, including the current software version. To check for updates, click on the “Check for Update” button.

Step 5: Download and Install the Update

If an update is available for your iPhone, iTunes will download it automatically. Once the download is complete, click on the “Update” button to install the update on your iPhone.

During the update process, your iPhone may restart several times. Make sure that you don’t disconnect your iPhone from your computer until the update is complete.

Step 6: Complete the Update

Once the update is complete, you’ll be prompted to complete the setup process on your iPhone. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setting up your iPhone with the new software.

That’s it! With these simple steps, you can update your iPhone on your computer and ensure that you have the latest software, features, and security updates.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
