Facebook is known for its robust video-sharing platform. Millions of users share videos every day in the form of posts, comments, or private messages. Sometimes, you might come across a video that you want to save offline. But what if the video is private and unavailable for download? You might think there’s no way to download private Facebook videos, but there is a solution.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to download private Facebook videos.

Step 1: Get the video link

Before you can download a private video, you need to get its link first. Unlike public videos, private videos are only visible to the creator and the people they share it with. The video link is the only way to access the video. To get the video link, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Facebook account using any browser.

2. Go to the video you want to download.

3. Right-click on the video and select “Show video URL.” Alternatively, you can click on the three dots on the top right corner of the video and select “Copy link.”

4. Paste the link on a text editor or a notepad for future use.

Step 2: Use a Video Downloader

Now that you have the video link, the next step is to use a video downloader tool that can bypass Facebook’s privacy settings. Some popular video downloading tools include Video DownloadHelper, FBDOWN, and KeepVid. Here’s how to use FBDOWN:

1. In your browser, go to FBDOWN.net.

2. Paste the video link into the text box provided.

3. Click on the “Download” button.

4. Select the video quality you want and click on the “Download” button again.

5. The video will be automatically saved to your device.

Note: Some video downloaders might require you to download a plugin or extension for your browser. Check the instructions provided on the website before downloading.

Step 3: Play and Check the Video

Once the download is complete, you can play the video on any video player that supports the format. If the video doesn’t play or there’s an error, it’s possible the video was removed or the link was incorrect. Check the link and try downloading again.
