As women age, their body goes through various changes. Post 50, the metabolism slows down and muscle mass begins to decline. However, it’s never too late to start focusing on your fitness. Here are 8 best daily exercises for women over 50 who are aiming to get lean arms:

1. Bicep Curls: Standing with feet shoulder-width apart, hold a dumbbell in each hand with palms facing forward. Curl the weights towards your shoulders while keeping your elbows close to your torso.

2. Tricep Dips: Sit on the edge of a sturdy chair or bench, place your hands next to your hips. Slide off the seat, supporting your weight with your arms, and lower your body until your arms form a 90-degree angle before pushing back up.

3. Arm Circles: Extend both arms out to the sides at shoulder height and perform small circles in a forward motion for 30-60 seconds, then reverse and go backwards.

4. Push-Ups: Either full body or modified with knees on the ground, keep a straight line from your knees/feet to shoulders and bend elbows to lower chest towards the floor before pushing back up.

5. Shoulder Press: Hold a pair of dumbbells at shoulder height with palms facing forward. Press the weights upward until your arms are fully extended overhead, then slowly lower them back down.

6. Hammer Curls: Similar to bicep curls but with the palms facing each other throughout, hammer curls focus on different arm muscles for a balanced workout.

7. Overhead Tricep Extension: Hold one dumbbell with both hands above your head. Slowly bend at the elbows to lower the weight behind your head, and then straighten your arms to return to start position.

8. Side Plank with Lateral Raise: In a side plank position and holding a light weight in the top hand, keep your core engaged as you raise and lower the weight smoothly through a comfortable range of motion.

Incorporating these exercises into a daily routine can help mature women increase muscle tone and strength in their arms while also improving overall fitness levels.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
