7 Ways to Fold Shorts for Better Organization and Space-Saving

Folding shorts properly can make a significant difference in the organization and appearance of your closet or drawers. Not only does it make it easier to find the pair you need, but it also saves space and prevents wrinkles. Here are 7 ways to fold shorts that will help you achieve better order and space-saving:

1. Basic Fold

The basic fold is simple and quick. Just fold the shorts in half, aligning the waistband on one side with the bottom hem on the other side. Then, fold them in half again, bringing the top towards the bottom. Now, your shorts should be neatly folded in a square shape.

2. Tri-Fold

For a slightly more artistic folding method, try the tri-fold. Lay your shorts flat with the front side facing up. Fold each side towards the center so that they overlap slightly in the middle. Finally, fold up the bottom hem so that it’s aligned with the waistband.

3. The Roll-up

The roll-up is perfect for packing shorts for travel or stacking them vertically within a drawer or closet organizer. Start by folding the waistband down towards the bottom hem. Then, fold one leg over the other before rolling them up from top to bottom.

4. KonMari Fold

Marie Kondo’s famous organizing method includes a unique way of folding clothes known as the KonMari fold. To apply this technique to your shorts, first lay them out flat and smooth any wrinkles. Next, fold them in half lengthwise, then again into thirds starting from either end.

5. Envelope Fold

The envelope fold works well for securing loose fabric or drawstrings while providing a neat appearance to your storage space. First, flatten out your shorts and tuck in any fly flaps or access fabric as necessary before folding them in half lengthwise. Bring both ends together with one overlapping the other to create an envelope-like shape, then fold this in half again.

6. Stacking Fold

If you prefer to stack your shorts horizontally in a way that allows you to see each pair at a glance without unfolding them, the stacking fold is the way to go. Lay your shorts flat and fold them in half lengthwise. Fold the bottom half up towards the waistband, but leave about an inch of space visible. Finally, fold the waistband down to create a neat rectangle.

7. Hanger Method

If you’d rather hang your shorts in your closet, simply fold them in half so that both waistband and bottom hem align on one side with your hanger’s hook on the opposite side. This will keep your shorts organized and easily accessible.

In conclusion, there are plenty of ways to fold your shorts to suit your organizational needs and personal preferences. Try out these seven methods and see which works best for you!
