The thrills and twists of a good thriller are unbeatable when it comes to cinematic experiences. But with the deluge of content on Netflix, many gems often go unnoticed. Here are seven of the best Netflix thrillers you might have slept on:

1. “The Gift” (2015) – A psychological thriller that will make you question how well you really know those around you. A married couple’s life is thrown into chaos when an old acquaintance delivers a series of mysterious gifts and a harrowing secret emerges.

2. “Calibre” (2018)– Tense and atmospheric, this is a story about two friends who face moral conflicts and intense consequences during a hunting trip in Scotland. It’s a compelling narrative that explores the depths of guilt and paranoia.

3. “Cam” (2018) – This one blurs the lines between reality and illusion in a tech-driven world. Following an adult webcam performer who discovers a sinister presence has taken over her account, “Cam” is both a commentary on identity theft and a nail-biting suspense film.

4. “I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore” (2017) – An offbeat thriller-comedy for those who like their genre films with a dose of dark humor. After her home is burglarized, nursing assistant Ruth sets out for vigilante justice, but finds herself in over her head.

5. “Berlin Syndrome” (2017) – A chilling portrayal of entrapment and obsession, this film follows an Australian photographer on holiday in Berlin who becomes locked in an apartment by a man she thought was her lover.

6. “Creep” (2014) – A found footage style thriller that stands out for its simplicity and effectiveness. When a videographer answers an online ad for a one-day job in a remote mountain town, he discovers his client is not at all what he initially seems.

7. “Hush” (2016) – Innovative in its use of silence, “Hush” is about a deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life but must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.

Each of these films offers unique thrills that are sure to grip audiences looking for suspenseful narratives that deviate from the conventional mainstream offerings on the platform.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech.
