In the vast sea of content that is Netflix, fuel for your next movie night could be hidden among titles you’ve scrolled past time and again. Here’s a list of the 7 best Netflix movies that might have slipped under your radar:

1.I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017) – A dark comedy thriller directed by Macon Blair, this film stars Melanie Lynskey and Elijah Wood as two vigilantes who find themselves in over their heads when they set out to confront burglars.

2.The Platform (2019) – A thought-provoking Spanish sci-fi movie with a unique concept of a vertical prison where food distribution from top to bottom floors is a metaphor for wealth distribution in society.

3.Blue Jay (2016) – A romantic, black-and-white film featuring Sarah Paulson and Mark Duplass who play high school sweethearts that reunite by chance in their hometown and rediscover old bonds.

4.The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) (2017) – Directed by Noah Baumbach, this poignant drama-comedy reveals the complexities of family relationships, starring Adam Sandler in one of his most applauded dramatic turns.

5.Okja (2017) – From visionary director Bong Joon-ho, this film follows a young girl’s quest to save her best friend, a massive animal named Okja, from the clutches of a powerful corporation.

6.Calibre (2018) – A tense British thriller that involves two friends whose trip to Scottish Highlands turns into a nightmare after a tragic accident, testing their morals and friendships under pressure.

7.Tramps (2016) – An indie gem that combines romance and crime elements as it follows two strangers who form an unlikely alliance trying to recover a lost briefcase potentially leading to love or disaster.

These sleeper hits are perfect examples of quality films on Netflix waiting for their chance to shine in your personal watchlist. Whether it’s an engaging drama, shocking sci-fi, or an off-beat comedy, these films promise to deliver stories you won’t soon forget.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
