Asheville, North Carolina, is a vibrant city nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains known for its artsy vibe and historic architecture. Whether you’re considering a visit or thinking of putting down roots, here are the seven best neighborhoods in Asheville to explore:

1.Downtown Asheville:

The beating heart of the city, downtown Asheville is brimming with local shops, art galleries, restaurants, and bars. The neighborhood is famous for its historic Art Deco architecture, live music scene, and the celebrated Pack Square.

2.Montford Area Historic District:

Just north of downtown, this residential neighborhood is lined with beautiful homes from the turn of the century. It’s perfect for those who appreciate quiet tree-lined streets combined with proximity to the city center.

3.West Asheville:

Known for its hip and edgy vibe, West Asheville boasts a collection of quirky boutiques, cafes, and music venues on Haywood Road. It’s a hit with younger residents and anyone who appreciates a strong community feel.

4.Biltmore Village:

Located near the famous Biltmore Estate, this charming village offers a bit of luxury with its upscale shopping and dining experiences. Cobblestone streets and Tudor-style architecture transport visitors back in time.

5.Historic Montford:

An extension of the Montford Area Historic District, this neighborhood features more breathtaking homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a number of bed-and-breakfasts ideal for visitors looking for a piece of history.

6.Kenilworth:

Positioned between downtown and Biltmore Village, Kenilworth is full of 1920s bungalows and houses designed in the Tudor revival style. It’s also known for Kenilworth Lake, providing residents with scenic walking trails.

7.River Arts District:

Once an industrial zone along the French Broad River, this thriving area now hosts an array of artist studios in re-purposed buildings. The neighborhood comes alive every second Saturday with studio strolls that invite art lovers to meet local artists.

Each neighborhood in Asheville offers its own unique flavor and attractions making it an ideal place to both visit and call home.
