Chowder, a hearty and comforting soup, has been a beloved dish for centuries. While many local seafood restaurants are known for their excellent chowders, several restaurant chains have also mastered the art of creating this delicious dish. Here are six restaurant chains that serve some of the best chowders you can find across the country.

  1. Legal Sea Foods

Known for their claim “If it isn’t fresh, it isn’t Legal,” this East Coast chain offers a New England Clam Chowder that’s hard to beat. Rich, creamy, and packed with tender clams, it’s a must-try for chowder enthusiasts.

  1. Red Lobster

While famous for their Cheddar Bay Biscuits, Red Lobster also serves a delectable New England Clam Chowder. Their version is creamy and flavorful, with a good balance of clams and potatoes.

  1. Panera Bread

Surprisingly, this bakery-cafe chain offers a fantastic New England Clam Chowder. Available on certain days of the week, it’s creamy, well-seasoned, and perfect for a quick chowder fix.

  1. Ivar’s

This Seattle-based chain is renowned for its seafood, and their chowders are no exception. Try their classic Clam Chowder or branch out with their unique Salmon Chowder for a Pacific Northwest twist.

  1. Boudin Bakery

Famous for their sourdough bread bowls, this San Francisco chain serves an excellent Clam Chowder that pairs perfectly with their signature bread. It’s a must-try when visiting the Bay Area.

  1. Captain D’s

This fast-casual seafood chain offers a tasty New England Clam Chowder that’s both affordable and satisfying. It’s a great option for a quick chowder craving.

Remember, while these chains offer consistently good chowders across their locations, the quality can vary. Always check recent reviews or ask locals for the best chowder experience in any given area.
