4 Ways to Fix Dried Out Eyeliner Gel

Introduction

The perfect cat-eye or dramatic wing can be achieved with a high-quality eyeliner gel. However, even the best products can dry out over time, leaving you with a clumpy and difficult-to-use mess. Don’t be too quick to toss your dried-out eyeliner gel, though. There are several ways to bring it back to life! In this article, we will discuss four methods to fix your dried-out eyeliner gel and get it back to its smooth, creamy consistency.

1.Use a Mixing Medium

A mixing medium is a product designed to enhance the texture and consistency of cosmetic products such as eyeshadows and eyeliners. To fix your dried-out eyeliner gel:

– Add a couple of drops of mixing medium into the gel pot.

– Use a clean makeup brush or spatula to mix the product until it reaches the desired consistency.

– Test the revived eyeliner on your hand; make adjustments by adding more mixing medium if necessary.

2.Apply Eye Drops

Eye drops are not just for relieving dry eyes – they can also work as an effective solution for reviving dried-out eyeliner gel:

– Add 1-2 drops of eye drops directly into your eyeliner pot.

– Mix well using a clean makeup brush or spatula until the gel regains its original consistency.

– Test the product on your hand to ensure it glides smoothly before applying it onto your eyes.

3.Use Baby Oil or Coconut Oil

Both baby oil and coconut oil are known for their hydrating properties, making them ideal candidates for fixing dried-out cosmetics:

– Add a few drops of baby oil or melted coconut oil into your eyeliner gel.

– Stir the mixture well using a clean makeup brush or spatula until thoroughly combined and smooth.

– Test the product on your hand to make sure it applies evenly and smoothly before applying it to your eyes.

4.Utilize a Hairdryer or Steamer

Applying gentle heat to your dried out eyeliner gel can help soften and return it to its original consistency:

– Place the uncovered pot of eyeliner on a heat-safe surface.

– Use a hairdryer on the lowest heat setting or a steamer, aiming at the eyeliner gel from a distance of 6-8 inches.

– Gently heat the product for 10-15 seconds, then stir with a clean makeup brush or spatula.

– Repeat the process until you achieve the desired consistency.

Conclusion

Dried-out eyeliner gel can be frustrating, but with these four methods, you can salvage your favorite product and continue using it for your stunning eye looks. Remember to always store your cosmetics in a cool, dry place and replace them regularly to ensure optimal performance and hygiene. Happy lining!
