4 Ways to Add Volume to Your Hair

As most of us have experienced at one point or another, having flat, lifeless hair can be disheartening. Luckily, there are several methods to add volume to your hair, making it bouncier and more vibrant. Below are four effective ways to achieve the voluminous hair you’ve always dreamed of.

1. Choose the right hair products

Selecting the correct hair products is vital for achieving volume. Look for lightweight shampoos and conditioners specifically designed for adding volume. These products typically contain ingredients that encourage lift and fullness without weighing your hair down. Additionally, opt for a volumizing mousse or root-lifting spray to apply after washing your hair.

2. Learn proper blow-drying techniques

Knowing how to blow-dry your hair appropriately can make a significant difference in creating volume. Begin by towel-drying your hair and removing excess moisture. Apply heat protectant and volumizing mousse or spray evenly throughout wet hair.

While blow-drying, use a round brush with vents or a diffuser attachment, working from roots to tips with the dryer’s nozzle pointing downwards. As you lift the brush up and away from your scalp, concentrate the heat at the roots to create lift in the hair.

3. Utilize backcombing and tease gently

Backcombing, otherwise known as teasing, is a tried-and-tested method for adding volume at the root of your hair. To backcomb effectively, choose a small section of your hair near the crown of your head and comb it downwards from halfway down the shaft to the roots. This technique creates additional friction at the root level, resulting in added fullness.

4. Adopt proper styling routines

Switching up some simple styling habits can make an impressive difference for building volume in your hair:

– Change your parting regularly: A fresh parting can instantly create extra volume on top of your head

– Sleep in loose braids or buns: These hairstyles help provide natural volume and texture while you sleep

– Use volumizing hair extensions: Clip-in hair extensions can be a quick solution for instant lift and fullness.

By incorporating these four techniques into your daily hair care routine, you can achieve the voluminous hair of your dreams and say goodbye to flat, lifeless locks!
