Introduction:

GIFs have become an integral part of online communication, helping us convey emotions and thoughts more effectively than plain text. If you own an iPhone, you likely want to know how to share these fun and engaging animations. In this article, we will explore three ways to send GIFs on your iPhone. Let’s dive right in!

1. Using the native Messages app

Apple’s built-in Messages app supports GIF sharing directly within the app. Follow these steps:

a) Open the Messages app.

b) Start a new conversation or select an existing one.

c) Tap the blue “A” App Store icon next to the text input field.

d) Scroll through the available apps and tap the red magnifying glass icon representing the #images app.

e) Use the search bar on top of the screen to find your desired GIF.

f) Tap on the chosen GIF to insert it into your message and hit “Send.”

2. Via a third-party keyboard app

One popular method for sending GIFs is by using a dedicated third-party keyboard app like Giphy or Tenor. Here’s how:

a) Download a keyboard app with GIF support (such as GIPHY or Tenor) from the App Store.

b) Navigate to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards, then tap “Add New Keyboard.”

c) Select your newly downloaded keyboard app from the list to add it.

d) Open any messaging app, select your third-party keyboard by tapping and holding on the globe icon, then choose it from the list.

e) Browse or search for your desired GIF within the keyboard app interface, tap it to insert it into your message, and press “Send.”

3. Saving and sharing a GIF from Safari

You can also find GIFs via Safari and save them to your device before sending them as attachments. Follow these simple steps:

a) Open Safari and search for the GIF you would like to share.

b) Tap and hold on the image until a menu appears.

c) Select “Save Image” to save the GIF to your iPhone’s Photos app.

d) Open your preferred messaging app, compose a new message or open an ongoing conversation.

e) Tap the camera icon or photo icon, depending on the app, and select the saved GIF from your Photos app.

f) Insert the GIF into your message and hit “Send.”

Conclusion:

Sharing GIFs on an iPhone is quick and easy thanks to built-in features in the Messages app along with third-party keyboard options. With a few taps, you can send amusing animations to your friends and family. Try one or all of these methods and enjoy enhancing your messages with fun and captivating GIFs!
