Instagram has become a powerhouse of visual content sharing, allowing users to not only share photos, but also engaging videos. With over 1 billion monthly active users, it’s no wonder that more and more people are looking to post videos on the platform. In this article, we’ll explore the three main ways you can post a video on Instagram: through in-feed posts, Instagram Stories, and IGTV.

1. In-Feed Posts

To create an in-feed video post, simply follow these steps:

a) Open the Instagram app on your mobile device.

b) Tap the “+” icon at the bottom-center of the screen.

c) Choose your desired video from your phone’s gallery or tap “Video” at the bottom to record a new video directly in the app.

d) Adjust the duration of your video as needed by trimming it using the slider. Remember that in-feed videos can be anywhere between 3 seconds and 1 minute long.

e) Apply any relevant filters or edits to your video using Instagram’s built-in editing tools.

f) Once you’re satisfied with your edits, write a caption for your video before selecting where you want it posted (either to your main profile feed or a specific Collection), and hit “Share.”

2. Instagram Stories

To post a video as an Instagram Story, take these steps:

a) Open the Instagram app on your mobile device.

b) At the top-left corner of your home feed screen, tap on your profile icon with a “+” sign or simply swipe right from your home feed.

c) Choose either “Create” at the bottom-left corner of the screen (for pre-recorded videos) or hold down the round button in the middle (for live recording).

d) After choosing or recording your video (15 seconds max), add text, stickers, GIFs or other interactive elements using Instagram’s tools if desired.

e) Finally, post your video by tapping “Send To” and selecting “Your Story” or sharing it directly with individual followers.

3. IGTV

IGTV is Instagram’s platform for longer videos, from 1 minute up to 1 hour in length. Here’s how you canpost an IGTV video:

a) Open the Instagram app on your mobile device.

b) Locate and tap the TV icon at the top-right corner of your home screen, right next to the direct messages icon.

c) Tap the “+” icon in the top right corner of your IGTV feed and select the desired video from your phone’s gallery.

d) Fill out the necessary details for your video such as title, description, and a cover image before tapping “Post.”

These three methods give you a variety of ways to engage with your audience on Instagram through video content. Study your target audience’s preferences and experiment with different types of content to find out which posting method works best for you. Happy posting!
