Grilling season is here, and with it comes an opportunity to try out new recipes and techniques. One healthy and flavorful option you might want to consider is grilled salmon. Salmon is not only delicious, but it is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. Here are three different ways to grill salmon that will make your next outdoor cookout an unforgettable experience:

1. Grilled Salmon with Lemon and Herbs

Bring out the natural flavors of salmon with this simple yet elegant preparation. To start, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Ingredients:

– 4 salmon fillets

– Olive oil

– Salt and pepper

– 1 lemon, thinly sliced

– Fresh herbs of your choice (e.g., dill, thyme, or rosemary)

Instructions:

1. Brush the salmon fillets with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

2. Place lemon slices on the grill grates for about 2 minutes or until slightly charred.

3. Lay the salmon fillets directly on the lemon slices, skin-side down.

4. Scatter your choice of herbs over the fillets.

5. Grill for about 8 minutes without flipping, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

6. Use a spatula to remove the fish from the lemon slices carefully and serve immediately.

2. Cedar Plank Grilled Salmon

Infuse your grilled salmon with a smoky, woodsy taste by using a cedar plank as a cooking surface.

Ingredients:

– Cedar plank (soaked in water for at least 2 hours)

– 4 salmon fillets

– Olive oil

– Salt and pepper

– Your favorite BBQ or teriyaki sauce (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

2. Brush salmon fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

3. If desired, brush the fillets with your favorite BBQ or teriyaki sauce for added flavor.

4. Place the soaked cedar plank on the grill grates and heat it for about 3 minutes.

5. Lay the salmon fillets on the heated cedar plank, skin-side down.

6. Grill for 12-15 minutes with the lid closed, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.

7. Remove the cedar plank from the grill and serve the salmon directly from it.

3. Foil-Wrapped Grilled Salmon

Create a juicy and tender grilled salmon by cooking it in a foil pouch to lock in moisture.

Ingredients:

– 4 large pieces of aluminum foil

– Cooking spray

– 4 salmon fillets

– Olive oil

– Salt and pepper

– Your choice of vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, onions, and zucchini)

Instructions:

1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

2. Spray each piece of aluminum foil with cooking spray.

3. Brush salmon fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

4. For each foil packet, place one salmon fillet in the center of a piece of foil.

5. Add your choice of chopped vegetables around the fish.

6. Fold up the sides of the foil to create an airtight pouch.

7. Place the foil packets on the grill grates and cook for 12-15 minutes, or until fish flakes easily with a fork.

8. Carefully open each pouch (be wary of steam) and serve immediately.

By using these three different methods to grill salmon, you can bring new flavors and variety to your summertime cookouts that are not only delicious but healthy as well!
