Grilling chicken drumsticks is a delicious and versatile way to enjoy a juicy, flavorful meal. However, there are several ways to prepare and cook them to achieve different tastes and textures. In this article, we will explore three methods for grilling chicken drumsticks that can elevate your next barbecue.

1. Classic Grilled Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients:

– 8 chicken drumsticks

– Olive oil

– Salt & pepper, to taste

– Your favorite dry rub or barbecue sauce

Instructions:

1. Clean and preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

2. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels and then coat them lightly with olive oil.

3. Season the drumsticks with salt and pepper, then apply an even layer of your chosen dry rub or barbecue sauce.

4. Place the drumsticks on the grill, turning occasionally. Cook for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

5. Remove from the grill, let rest for a few minutes, then serve.                                                                                                                                                        2.

2. Crispy Grilled Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients:

– 8 chicken drumsticks

– 1 cup of buttermilk

– Salt & pepper, to taste

– 2 cups of flour

– Vegetable oil, for brushing

Instructions:

1. Immerse the chicken drumsticks in buttermilk and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

2. Preheat your grill to medium heat.

3. Combine salt, pepper, and flour in a shallow dish.

4. Remove the drumsticks from the buttermilk and dredge in flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

5. Brush each drumstick with vegetable oil before placing them on the grill.

6. Cook the drumsticks for about 20 minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and have a crispy, golden brown exterior.

7. Remove from the grill, let rest for a few minutes, then serve.

3. Asian-inspired Grilled Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients:

– 8 chicken drumsticks

– ½ cup soy sauce

– ¼ cup honey

– 2 cloves of minced garlic

– 1 tbsp grated ginger

– Green onions and sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.

2. Place the chicken drumsticks in a Ziploc bag or container, then add the marinade. Make sure drumsticks are evenly coated. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.

3. Preheat your grill to medium heat.

4.Remove the drumsticks from the marinade and place them on the grill, cooking for roughly 20 minutes per side, until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

5. As an optional step, you can baste the drumsticks with leftover marinade while grilling for additional flavor.

6. Remove from grill, let rest for a few minutes, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

These three methods offer unique flavors and textures to grilled chicken drumsticks that will elevate your barbecue game. Try each one and experiment with different seasonings and sauces to find your favorite combination. Happy grilling!
