3 Ways to Get Stone in Minecraft

Introduction:

Minecraft, the popular sandbox game with over 200 million copies sold worldwide, continues to be a favorite among both casual and dedicated players. A notable and essential block within the game is stone. Stone is a versatile building material and can be crafted into dozens of useful items to help you thrive in the game. In this article, we’ll explore three methods to obtain stone in Minecraft.

1. Mining Cobblestone and Smelting:

The most straightforward way to get stone in Minecraft is to mine cobblestone and then smelt it in a furnace. Cobblestone can be easily obtained by mining any stone block using a pickaxe, which can be made from wood, stone, iron, diamond, or netherite. Once you’ve mined enough cobblestone, place it in a furnace with any fuel source (like wood or coal) and wait for the smelting process to finish. You will receive your finished stone block from the furnace once it’s done smelting.

2. Silk Touch Enchantment:

The Silk Touch enchantment allows you to mine blocks without breaking them into their basic components. This means that when you mine a stone block with a Silk Touch enchanted tool such as a pickaxe, you will obtain the original stone instead of cobblestone. To get this valuable enchantment, you’ll need an enchantment table or an anvil with enchanted books.

To enchant your pickaxe with Silk Touch:

– Craft an enchantment table using four obsidian blocks, two diamonds, and one book.

– Place the enchantment table near bookshelves to improve the enchanting level.

– Enchant your pickaxe by placing it in the enchantment table’s slots.

– Look for the Silk Touch enchantment option.

– If unavailable at first, try enchanting other items or using books on the table until you see the Silk Touch as an option. Remember, you’ll need to gain more experience points to enchant items again.

3. Trading with Villagers:

The last method to obtain stone in Minecraft is by trading with villagers. Specifically, you will want to find a Mason villager. Mason villagers wear aprons and can be found in villages near the stonecutter’s block.

To trade with a Mason villager:

– Gather emeralds, which can be obtained through other villager trades or mining.

– Approach the Mason villager and right-click or press the appropriate button on your console/controller to open the trading interface.

– Look for a trade that offers stone in exchange for emeralds.

– Complete the trade and obtain your stone blocks.

Conclusion:

Stone is an essential material in Minecraft, and knowing these three methods to obtain stone will help you advance in your game quickly. Whether it’s through smelting cobblestone, using the Silk Touch enchantment, or trading with villagers, gather as much stone as you can and start building your dream creations!
