Introduction:

A well-placed and beautifully framed mirror can instantly transform any space, making it look brighter and feel more spacious. In this article, we will share three ways you can create a stunning frame for your mirror. Whether you’re looking for something store-bought or a DIY project, these methods are guaranteed to elevate your mirror game.

1. Use a store-bought frame

Buying a ready-made mirror frame is an easy option for those who want to get the job done quickly. Many large home décor stores often have an extensive selection of mirror frames in various materials, styles, and colors. Here’s how you can use a store-bought frame to frame your mirror:

– Measure your mirror and ensure the frame you’re purchasing is of the right size.

– Choose a frame style that complements your overall room décor.

– Carefully place the mirror inside the frame and secure it using brackets or clips.

– Hang or mount the framed mirror on your desired wall.

2. Repurpose old picture frames

Have an old picture frame lying around? Why not give it new life by turning it into a chic and vintage-looking mirror frame? Repurposing an old picture frame is not only environmentally friendly, but also adds character to your living space. Here’s how you can do it:

– Remove the picture or artwork from the frame.

– Clean and paint the frame if desired, so it matches your room aesthetic.

– Have a piece of mirror cut-to-size (based on your frame) at a local glass shop.

– Place the mirror inside the frame using adhesive or brackets, then secure the back with clips or cardboard.

– Hang your new framed mirror on the wall.

3. DIY wood trim frames

For those who enjoy getting hands-on with their home décor projects, creating a custom wood trim frame is an excellent way to add personality to a mirror. This method is inexpensive and allows you to experiment with different size, color, and design options. Here’s how to create a DIY wood trim mirror frame:

– Measure your mirror edges and decide how wide you want the frame to be.

– Purchase wood trim pieces in your desired size and style from a home improvement store.

– Cut the wood trim to the appropriate lengths, creating 45-degree mitre cuts on the ends for a clean corner fit.

– Paint or stain the trim pieces as desired and allow them to dry.

– Attach the trim pieces to the mirror edges using heavy-duty double-sided tape or adhesive.

– If necessary, attach brackets or hanging hardware to the back of the mirror.

Conclusion:

No matter which method you choose, framing a mirror is a simple and effective way to add charm and elegance to your home. With so many options available, there’s definitely a framing technique that suits your distinctive taste.
