3 Ways to Fake a Hickey

Spread the love

Introduction

While a hickey is usually a mark of passion or love, there may be instances where you might want to create one without actually getting one – perhaps for a prank or a costume party. Whatever the reason, faking a hickey can be done using simple techniques and items available at home. Here are three ways to convincingly fake a hickey.

1. Using Make-Up

Using make-up is the easiest way to create the look of an authentic hickey. Here are the materials youwill need:

– Eyeshadow in shades of purple, red, and blue

– A blush brush or eyeshadow applicator

– A blending brush

Steps:

a. Choose the location for your fake hickey and start by applying red eyeshadow with the applicator or brush. Ensure that it’s slightly larger than how you eventually want your hickey to appear.

b. Next, layer purple eyeshadow over the red base, focusing on the center of the hickey.

c. Add depth with blue eyeshadow around the edges of your fake hickey but avoid covering the entire area.

d. Blend the colors gently by using a blending brush in small circular motions while ensuring there are no harsh lines.

2. Using a Soda Bottle or Shot Glass

This method involves creating suction on the skin to mimic a genuine hickey.

Materials:

– A small soda bottle with an opening smaller than 2 inches in width (a shot glass works too)

– Warm water

Steps:

a. Fill up the soda bottle or shot glass with warm water ensuring it’s not too hot for your skin.

b. Choose where you want your fake hickey and place the opening of the bottle or glass against your skin.

c. Press down firmly to create suction on your skin then hold it in place for about 15 seconds.

d. After 15 seconds, gently remove the bottle or glass. A circular reddish impression should be visible on your skin as a temporary “hickey”.

3. Using a Vacuum Hose Attachment

This method is similar to the soda bottle/shot glass technique but employs a vacuum hose attachment instead.

Materials:

– Vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment

– Warm water

Steps:

a. Detach the vacuum hose from the main body of the vacuum.

b. Soak the end of the hose attachment in warm water for a few seconds.

c. Choose the desired location for your fake hickey and apply the warm, moistened end of the attachment against your skin.

d. Turn on the vacuum for a brief moment to create suction and hold it in place for no more than 15 seconds.

e. Gently remove the attachment and check for a red mark resembling a hickey.

Conclusion:

There are multiple ways to fake a hickey convincingly, but always be cautious when using techniques that involve suction. Excessive suction can cause bruising or skin irritation. Whatever your reason for creating a faux love bite, remember to have fun and enjoy the reactions you receive!
