If you’ve fallen in love with Disney’s latest animated film, “Encanto,” and are looking to cosplay as the perfect eldest granddaughter, Isabela Madrigal, then look no further. This article will guide you through three different methods for creating an accurate and eye-catching Isabela cosplay look. Whether you’re attending a convention or showing off your skills at a themed party, these tips will help you capture the essence of Isabela’s character and style.

1. DIY Costume Approach:

For those who enjoy creating their own costumes, the DIY approach will allow you to customize your look according to your preferences and budget.

– The Dress: Look for violet fabric with a floral pattern (similar to roses). Create a long-sleeve, ankle-length dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline. Use sheer fabric for the sleeves and add ruffles along the top of the dress.

– The Accessories: Find or create a green hair clip in the shape of a flower. Additionally, wear golden hoop earrings and bracelets on each wrist.

– Hair and Makeup: Style your hair in a long, curly high ponytail – use a wig if necessary. Apply natural makeup with a focus on bold purple eyeshadow, pink blush, and pink lipstick.

2. Purchase a Pre-Made Costume:

If DIY is not your forte or if time is limited, purchasing a pre-made Isabela costume could be the right choice for you.

– Search online retailers, like Etsy or Amazon, for an “Isabela Encanto costume.” Make sure to choose one that closely mimics her dress design and color.

– In addition to buying the dress, don’t forget to search for matching accessories like the green flower hair clip and gold jewelry.

Use wigs and makeup kits available online to complete your transformation into Isabela

3. Modify an Existing Dress:

If you have a plain violet dress in your closet or can find one at a thrift store, you can customize it to resemble Isabela’s.

– Sew on a ruffled neckline, either by hand or with a sewing machine, using fabric that closely matches the color of your dress.

– Add long, sheer sleeves to the dress if it does not already have them.

– Find iron-on or sew-on patches with rose patterns and apply them to the dress in a manner that resembles Isabela’s outfit.

– Complete the look with a green flower hair clip (which can be found online or created using materials like felt), gold jewelry, and the signature high ponytail.

Regardless of which method you choose, capturing Isabela’s essence is all about attention to detail and staying true to her character. By following these steps, your enchanting cosplay will bring everyone’s favorite Madrigal sister to life as you charm onlookers at conventions, parties, and beyond.
