3 Ways to Clean an Acrylic Tub

Acrylic tubs have gained popularity for their durability, lightweight design, and low cost. However, they come with a slight challenge: ensuring that they remain clean and free from stains. But fear not, as maintaining the pristine condition of your acrylic tub need not be an uphill battle. In this article, we discuss three simple ways to help you keep your acrylic tub looking sparkling clean.

1. Use Non-Abrasive Cleaning Agents

When it comes to acrylic tubs, using non-abrasive cleaning agents is crucial. Abrasive cleaners can damage the gloss and finish of your tub’s surface. Instead, opt for non-abrasive cleaners such as liquid dish soap or all-purpose bathroom cleaners. To create a gentle cleaning solution, mix warm water with a few drops of mild detergent or liquid soap.

Dampen a soft sponge or microfiber cloth with the soapy water and rub it gently over the surface of your tub. Pay attention to any areas with soap scum or stains. Once you’ve wiped down the entire tub, rinse the soap suds off using warm water.

2. Tackle Stains with Baking Soda

Despite regular cleaning, acrylic tubs may still develop some mild stains over time. To combat this issue without causing damage to the tub, use baking soda as an effective stain remover.

Make a paste by combining baking soda with a small amount of water. Apply this paste directly onto the stained area using a soft cloth or sponge. Allow the mixture to sit for at least 10 minutes before scrubbing gently in circular motions. Be sure not to apply excessive pressure, as it may scratch the surface of your acrylic tub.

After removing the stain, rinse the area thoroughly with warm water to get rid of any residue from the baking soda paste.

3. Use Vinegar for Deep Cleaning

Vinegar is an excellent cleaning agent for breaking down soap scum and hard water stains. To use it for cleaning your acrylic tub, mix equal parts of white vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle.

After spraying the solution onto the surface of the tub, allow it to sit for approximately 15 minutes. This allows the vinegar to break down any build-up effectively. Once the time has passed, use a soft sponge or cloth to gently scrub away the residue in circular motions. Finally, rinse the tub with warm water to ensure no vinegar residue remains.

In conclusion, keeping your acrylic tub shiny and clean can be a breeze if you follow these three easy methods. Non-abrasive cleaners, baking soda, and vinegar are all gentle yet effective options to maintain the beauty and functionality of your tub without compromising its surface. So go ahead and let your acrylic tub be the sparkling centerpiece of your bathroom!
