Introduction:

PayPal.Me is a convenient way to request and receive payments from friends, family, and clients. It allows you to create a personalized link that directs people to your account, making it simple for them to send you money. But what if you need to change your PayPal.Me link? Whether it’s for personal branding or simply because you want a fresh start, changing your link doesn’t have to be complicated. In this article, we’ll discuss three ways to change your PayPal.Me link.

1. Deactivate and Re-create the PayPal.Me Link

The most straightforward method is deactivating your current PayPal.Me link and creating a new one with the desired username.

Here’s how you can do it:

a) Log in to your PayPal account.

b) Navigate to the PayPal.Me section.

c) Locate the “Deactivate Account” option and click on it.

d) Confirm by clicking “Deactivate” in the pop-up window.

e) To create a new link, go back to the PayPal.Me section.

f) Follow the steps provided to create a new personalized link with your desired username.

Please note that once you delete a link, it cannot be reactivated again with the same name. Deactivation is permanent.

2. Request Changes via Customer Support

If you prefer not to deactivate your existing link or want help in changing it, consider reaching out to PayPal customer support. They can assist with modifications in some cases, such as correcting typos or minor changes in the personal URL.

To contact customer support:

a) Visit PayPal’s official website.

b) Scroll down and find “Contact Us”.

c) Choose an option depending on whether you have a personal or a business account.

d) Select an appropriate contact method (phone call or chat).

e) Explain your issue and request assistance in changing your PayPal.Me link.

Please note that PayPal’s customer support may not approve of all requests to change your link, especially if it involves significant alterations.

3. Make Changes via PayPal’s Merchant Portal (for Business Accounts)

If you’re using a PayPal business account, you can change your PayPal.Me link through the merchant portal on their website.

To change your link using the merchant portal:

a) Log in to your PayPal business account.

b) Navigate to “My Profile” and then “My Selling Tools”.

c) Find the “Payment Links” section and click on “Update”.

d) Modify your existing PayPal.Me link as needed.

e) Save the changes when you’re done.

Conclusion:

Changing your PayPal.Me link is possible in various ways. Though some methods may be more suitable for personal accounts and others for business accounts, these three options should cover the majority of user needs. To avoid any inconvenience, always double-check before finalizing changes and note that some actions, like deactivating a link, are irreversible.
