3 Ways to Achieve a Messy Hair Effect

Introduction:

The messy hair effect is a popular hairstyle that can give you a laid-back, carefree look. Hair trends come and go, but the effortlessly chic messy hair effect remains a timeless favorite. Whether you’re running late, having a bad hair day, or simply want to try something new, achieving the perfect tousled look is easier than you think. In this article, we’ll explore three simple methods to help you create the ideal messy hair effect.

1.Sea Salt Spray

Sea salt spray is your go-to product for achieving beach-worthy waves without spending hours in the sun. The combination of salt and water creates texture and volume while providing a natural hold for your style.

How to use:

– Mix equal parts of sea salt and warm water in a spray bottle.

– Add a few drops of coconut oil or any lightweight oil to add moisture and prevent dryness.

– Shake the bottle well to mix the ingredients.

– Spritz your damp hair with the mixture from roots to ends.

– Scrunch your hair using your hands as it air dries or use a diffuser attachment on your hairdryer for faster results.

2.Braids and Twists

Braids and twists are versatile techniques that can help give your hair more texture and body without using heat or chemicals.

Braids:

– Start with damp or dry hair.

– Divide your hair into small sections depending on how tight or loose curls you want.

– Braid each section tightly and secure it with an elastic band.

– Leave the braids in for several hours or overnight until they’re completely dry.

– Unravel the braids gently, without combing through them, and use your fingers to separate and fluff out curls.

Twists:

– Divide damp or dry hair into sections similar to braids.

– Twist each section of hair away from your face until it starts to coil around itself.

– Pin the twisted sections in place with bobby pins or hair clips.

– Allow your hair to dry thoroughly, or use a blow dryer with a diffuser attachment if needed.

– Unpin and gently shake out the twists, finger-combing for added volume and separation.

3.Messy Updo

For those who prefer an updo style, creating a loose, messy bun can instantly give your hairstyle a casual yet stylish appearance.

– Start with dry hair that has been lightly teased at the roots for added volume.

– Gather your hair into a high ponytail and loosely secure it with an elastic band.

– Twist your ponytail and wrap it around the base of the elastic to create a bun.

– Tuck the ends under and secure the bun with bobby pins or another elastic band.

– Gently pull out strands of hair around your face for a softer look, and use your fingers to loosen sections of the bun, creating an effortless, tousled effect.

Conclusion:

Achieving the perfect messy hair effect is simple with these three methods. Experiment with sea salt spray, braids and twists, or a messy updo to find the right look for you. Whichever method you choose, you’re sure to exude effortless chic and embrace that coveted carefree vibe.
