2024 Georgia Best in Beer Recap
As we close the taps on the 2024 Georgia Best in Beer event, let’s take a moment to reflect on the exceptional showcase that highlighted Georgia’s vibrant craft beer scene. This year’s festival was one for the record books, with more than 100 breweries pouring their hearts and hops into every glass.
The festival, which took place at Atlanta’s historic Old Fourth Ward Park, saw an unprecedented number of attendees who sipped and savored their way through a spectacular array of brews. The level of creativity and mastery displayed by local brewers reminds us why Georgia remains at the forefront of the American craft beer revolution.
Several breweries stood out amongst their peers this year. The ‘Best in Show’ award was claimed by Savannah’s own Coastal Empire Beer Co., with their stunning Imperial Pecan Pie Porter – a complex and decadent brew that balances rich maltiness with subtle nutty undertones. Meanwhile, newcomers Peach State Ales wowed the crowd with their innovative fruit-infused IPAs, proving that there is always room for new flavors in the ever-evolving beer landscape.
Another highlight of the festival was Athens-based Terrapin Beer Company’s workshop on sustainable brewing practices. Their commitment to environment-friendly processes resonated with attendees, mirroring a growing concern for sustainability within the industry.
The 2024 Georgia Best in Beer was not just about enjoying fantastic brews; it was also a celebration of local culture and community. Live music performances from some of Savannah’s best bands provided the perfect backdrop to an event characterized by camaraderie and shared passion for craft beer.
Looking ahead, we raise our glasses to next year’s event, full of anticipation for what Georgia’s brewers will concoct in their quest for innovation and excellence. Until then, let’s continue supporting our local breweries as they craft the libations that bring us together.
Cheers to another successful year!
