2024 Ford Bronco Drops Base Model, Now Starts over $41K

The automotive world has been abuzz with news about the 2024 Ford Bronco, as recent announcements have brought forth some significant changes. One of the most noticeable updates for the new model year is that Ford has decided to eliminate the base model of its popular off-roader. As a result, the starting price for the 2024 Ford Bronco is now set at over $41,000.

This move by Ford presents a departure from their previous strategy regarding the Bronco’s lineup. The base model was a gateway into the world of Bronco ownership, offering the essential capabilities and features at a more affordable price point. With this option no longer available, potential buyers will have to dig deeper into their pockets to join the Bronco community.

Despite losing its entry-level variant, the 2024 Ford Bronco lineup still offers plenty of options for enthusiasts to choose from. The range now starts with the Big Bend trim, which gets both interior and exterior upgrades compared to the previous base model. Some of these enhancements include LED headlights and taillights, an enhanced infotainment system with smartphone integration, additional driver-assistance technologies, and a handful of unique styling cues.

Notwithstanding these improvements, dropping the base model might prove to be a double-edged sword for Ford. On one hand, it enables them to focus on producing higher-margin trims with more features, potentially boosting profitability. On the other hand, it could alienate those who were considering purchasing an entry-level Bronco but find the $41K starting price too steep.

Nonetheless, Ford has continued to invest in its adventure-ready SUVs in an attempt to keep pace with rising competition. Apart from the changes mentioned above, other notable updates for 2024 include an expanded color palette and new wheel designs that can be paired with various trims and packages.

In conclusion, the 2024 Ford Bronco’s elimination of the base model and the subsequent price increase may be a cause for concern among prospective buyers who are not willing to spend over $41K for an entry-level variant. However, with a robust lineup of trims and features, the future of the iconic off-roader is still promising. Despite these challenges, the Bronco remains an undeniably popular option in the burgeoning off-road segment.
