The Boutique Design New York (BDNY) has always been a premier event for the hospitality design community, showcasing a plethora of innovative products and cutting-edge exhibits. As BDNY 2024 concludes, we’re excited to share the winners of the ‘Best of BDNY’ product competition, a highlight of the trade fair that honors excellence in product design for hospitality interiors.

Among the standout products this year is the HydroLux Divider, which won the category for ‘Best Wall Treatment’. It’s a revolutionary divider designed by AquaSpace Interiors that brings an element of fluid dynamic aesthetics into hotel spaces. Each panel contains a harmoniously flowing mixture of water and light, creating an immersive visual experience while subtly partitioning different areas.

In the seating category, ReclineTech’s ‘ErgoNest’ guest chair took home the prize. The chair is an exemplary piece combining technology and ergonomics to provide unrivaled comfort for hotel guests. With its intuitive adjustments and sustainable materials, ErgoNest represents what modern seating in luxury hotels can be—functional, beautiful, and environmentally responsible.

The best lighting product was awarded to Illumina Concepts for their ‘SpectraLume’ series of LED fixtures. These fixtures are not only energy-efficient but also incorporate a color-changing feature that allows hoteliers to easily set different moods within spaces without changing fixtures, exemplifying flexibility in design.

The top bedding accolade went to DreamWeave Linens with their organic ‘CloudNine Collection’. This eco-friendly range accentuates both comfort and sustainability, made from organic cotton and utilizing natural dyes. The collection includes hypoallergenic options ensuring inclusive comfort.

In technology integration, SmartSpace Innovations impressed the jury with their ‘RoomIntell’ Smart Room system. It’s a highly integrative platform that allows guests to personalize their stay through smart devices provided in each room. From climate control to entertainment options, RoomIntell makes a guest’s experience seamless and customizable at their fingertips.

One exhibit particularly noteworthy was the ‘Fusion Pavilion’, which brought to life an international blend of contemporary designs from around the globe. It provided a sensory journey through textures, scents, and visuals that encapsulate global hospitality trends.

The ‘Essence of Region’ display by Locale Design won admiration for showcasing authentic regional crafts in contemporary settings. It succeeded in bringing local artistry into a modern dialogue with interior design enthusiasts looking for unique pieces with compelling stories behind them.

Finally, ‘TechFront’, the exhibit focused on futuristic technology applications in hospitality provided breathtaking peeks into the future of hotel experiences with concepts like robotic concierges and interactive walls transforming before one’s eyes.

The annual gathering at BDNY not only fosters innovation but also encourages forward-thinking designs that often become industry benchmarks. The 2024 Best of BDNY awards are testament to this pursuit of excellence within the world of hospitality design, recognizing products and exhibits that define not just current trends but also point towards future possibilities. Congratulations to all the winners who have set new standards this year with their exceptional craftsmanship and visionary designs!
