Introduction:

The revival of Acura’s legendary Integra nameplate has been on enthusiasts’ minds ever since the rumors began surfacing a few years ago. Well, the wait is over. With the debut of the all-new 2024 Acura Integra Type S, it’s clear that the brand aims to make a serious impression in the sport compact scene once again. In this review, we’ll take you on an exclusive first drive of the much-anticipated 2024 Acura Integra Type S and showcase what sets it apart from its competitors.

Design:

The 2024 Acura Integra Type S inherits its stunning design language from Acura’s new lineup, blending heritage with modernity. The signature Diamond Pentagon grille flanked by LED headlights gives off an aggressive front fascia, while the sloping roofline and bold character lines signify its sporting intentions. The dual exhaust tips and prominent rear wing seal the deal, completing an athletic and dynamic appearance.

Performance:

Under the hood, Acura equipped the Integra Type S with a turbocharged 2.0-liter VTEC engine – an upgrade from the base model’s 1.5-liter engine. This powerplant churns out an impressive 280 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, more than enough to satisfy performance enthusiasts. Paired with a smooth-shifting six-speed manual transmission or an available quick-shifting 10-speed automatic, this car will eagerly tackle your favorite winding roads or racetracks.

Handling:

Grip and handling are of utmost importance in a sports car, and Acura delivers in this department as well. The Integra Type S rides on an advanced MacPherson strut front suspension, aided by adaptive dampers which provide flat cornering capability even over rough surfaces. SUPER HANDLING All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) also helps in tricky conditions and delivers a confident, balanced driving experience that feels connected and lively.

Interior:

Climbing inside, you’ll be greeted by a driver-focused cockpit filled with premium materials and intuitive ergonomics. Bolstered sport seats keep you firmly in place, as the leather-wrapped steering wheel offers excellent feedback and connectivity to the road ahead. Additionally, Acura’s True Touchpad Interface™ helps you navigate through information and inspires confidence through seamless connectivity to Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.

Safety:

Acura’s safety philosophies remain steadfast with the new Integra Type S. The AcuraWatch suite of advanced driver-assist technologies promotes peace of mind through Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Road Departure Mitigation system (RDM). Rest assured that safety is at the forefront when behind the wheel of the Integra Type S.

Conclusion:

The 2024 Acura Integra Type S combines heritage, performance, and advanced technology to create a thrilling ride worthy of its storied predecessor. With impressive power and razor-sharp handling wrapped up in a compelling package, this car proves that Acura is dedicated to producing exhilarating driving experiences for enthusiasts once more. If you’re looking for a sports compact car that ticks all the right boxes, the new Acura Integra Type S should be at the top of your list.
