1. Verb Charades: Divide the class into teams and have each team act out a verb while the other teams guess which verb it is. This will help reinforce verb tenses in a fun and interactive way.

2. Tense Timeline: Create a timeline on the board or on a piece of chart paper with different verb tenses marked. Have students come up and place examples of verbs in the correct tense on the timeline.

3. Verb Tense Sort: Provide students with a list of verbs and have them sort them into categories based on their tense. For example, present tense, past tense, future tense, etc.

4. Verb Tense Memory: Create a set of cards with verbs written in different tenses. Students will play a memory game where they have to match the verb with its correct tense.

5. Verb Tense Bingo: Create bingo cards with different verb tenses written in the squares. Call out a verb and its tense, and students will mark off the corresponding square on their bingo cards.

6. Verb Tense Scramble: Write sentences on the board with the verbs out of order. Students will rearrange the verbs into the correct tense to make meaningful sentences.

7. Verb Tense Relay Race: Divide the class into teams and set up a relay race. Each student will run to a board with a sentence written on it and will have to rewrite the sentence in the correct verb tense before running back to their team.

8. Verb Tense Pictionary: Similar to verb charades, but instead of acting out the verb, students will draw a picture that represents the verb tense.

9. Fill in the Blank: Provide students with sentences that have missing verbs and have them fill in the correct verb tense. This can be done individually or in pairs.

10. Verb Tense Storytelling: Have students work in groups to create a story using different verb tenses. Each group member will contribute a sentence using a different verb tense to create a cohesive story.

11. Verb Tense Videos: Show students short videos or clips from TV shows and movies that demonstrate different verb tenses. Pause the video and discuss the verb tense being used.

12. Verb Tense Relay: Set up a relay race where students have to run to a board with a sentence starter written on it. Each student will have to complete the sentence with the correct verb tense before running back to their team.

13. Verb Tense Word Search: Create a word search puzzle with verbs in different tenses hidden in it. Students will have to find and mark off the verbs based on their tense.

14. Verb Tense Mix-ups: Provide students with a list of sentences and have them rewrite the sentences with the verbs in the correct tense.

15. Verb Tense Rap: Write a rap or song that incorporates different verb tenses. Have students perform the rap or song as a class.

16. Verb Tense Tic-Tac-Toe: Create a tic-tac-toe board with different verb tenses written in each square. Students will have to provide an example sentence using the verb tense in order to place their X or O in the square.

17. Verb Tense Relay Dictation: Divide the class into teams and set up a relay race. The teacher will read out a sentence with a missing verb tense and the first student in each team will have to run and write the correct verb tense before passing it on to the next student.

18. Verb Tense Matching: Create a set of cards with sentences written in different verb tenses. Students will have to match the sentence with the correct verb tense.

19. Verb Tense Jigsaw: Give students different pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that represent different verb tenses. They will have to work together to put the puzzle together and discuss the verb tenses as they go.

20. Verb Tense Debate: Assign students different verb tenses and have them debate the importance and usage of their assigned tense. This will encourage critical thinking and discussion around verb tenses.

These activities can be used to engage students and reinforce their understanding of verb tenses in a creative and interactive way. Enjoy teaching!

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
