In the digital age, earning rewards and cashback for your purchases has never been easier. Various apps offer the ability to scan receipts and collect money, points, or other forms of compensation as a return. Here is a curated list of the 14 best apps you can use to scan your receipts for money.

1. Ibotta: This cashback app requires users to select offers before they shop and then upload their receipts after purchase. Ibotta offers a $20 welcome bonus and has paid out over $600 million to its users.

2. Fetch Rewards: Simply scan any grocery receipt after you shop and save on thousands of popular products throughout the store. Earn points on every receipt you scan.

3. Swagbucks: With Swagbucks, not only can you earn money from scanning receipts, but you can also make money by shopping online, watching videos, and taking surveys.

4. Checkout 51: A new batch of offers is available every Thursday morning, and all you have to do is choose yours before heading out to shop, then submit a photo of your receipt.

5. Receipt Hog: Snap pictures of your receipts from any store, big or small, that sells grocery items to earn Receipts Hog rewards like coins, spins at the virtual slot machine, and more.

6. Shopkick: Earn ‘kicks’ just by walking into a store and scanning items’ barcodes, no purchase necessary! Shopkick also offers rewards for scanned receipts from participating brands.

7. CoinOut: As seen on Shark Tank, CoinOut allows you to scan any receipt for cashback without any hoops to jump through.

8. BerryCart: Great for those with dietary restrictions or who enjoy organic, gluten-free or non-GMO foods. Scan your grocery receipt and earn cashback on eligible items.

9. SavingStar: Select the eCoupons you like before hitting the supermarket then link them to your existing grocery and drugstore loyalty cards to save money when you shop.

10. Makeena: Not only does Makeena offer cashback on healthy and eco-friendly products at any store but also helps users discover new brands.

11. Receipt Pal: Similar to Receipt Hog in that it accepts virtually any receipt, Receipt Pal lets users earn points that can be used towards gifts or contest entries.

12. Punchcard: After shopping anywhere—restaurants, grocery stores, clothing stores—take a picture of your receipt with Punchcard and accrue punches towards rewards at your favorite places.

13. Mobee: This secret shopper app allows users to gain points by completing “missions” in-store, including scanning items’ barcodes or taking pictures of displays—receipt scanning is another way Mobee users can earn money.

14. SnipSnap Coupon App: While SnipSnap is mainly a coupon app designed for digital coupon clipping rather than receipt scanning for cash back, it allows the user to take pictures of printed coupons to find a mobile-friendly version which can be very handy at checkouts.

This selection represents some of the most reliable and user-friendly apps in the market for turning receipts into rewards or cash. Each one provides different kinds of benefits so that various consumers’ needs can be met through one or several of these options.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
