In the fast-paced world that we live in, it’s not always practical to carry around tissues or handkerchiefs to address the occasional runny nose. Wiping your nose on your hands might be a less conventional option, but sometimes it’s just necessary. Here are 11 different ways to do it effectively and creatively:

1. The Classic Swipe – Use the side of your index finger or thumb to quickly swipe across your nostrils, wiping off any excess mucus.

2. The Stealthy Approach – Pretend to scratch your nose with your knuckles while subtly wiping off any snot with the back of your hand.

3. The Double-Barreled – Cup both hands together and use them to simultaneously wipe both nostrils in one smooth motion.

4. The Pinky Promise – Fold all your fingers except for your pinky and use the edge of your smallest digit to clean the outside of each nostril.

5. The Fist-Bump Blow – Make a fist and carefully press the knuckle of your thumb against one nostril while you gently blow out the other.

6. The Palm Pilot – Rub the base of your palm against one nostril, then switch hands for the other side.

7. The Running Man – While jogging in place, vigorously shake out each hand and use that extra force to quickly wipe the exterior of each nostril with a flicking motion.

8. The Karate Kid – Hold up one hand horizontally, with fingers straight and flat like a karate chop; then bring it sharply towards your face, closing off one nostril as you do so. Repeat for the other side.

9. The Windmill – Shake both hands together above your head, creating a whirlwind effect that instantly wipes away any pesky snot particles from each fingertip upon reentry.

10. La Cucaracha – Embrace your inner Spanish dancer and delicately use the tips of your nails like a flamenco guitar to pluck away any excess mucus from the outer edges of your nostrils.

11. The Nose Dive – Take a bold leap forward and channel all your inner momentum into a fierce nose-to-hand connection, quickly wiping any unwanted runniness before continuing on your way.

Now that you have these 11 unconventional ways to wipe your nose on your hands, you’ll always be prepared for those moments when tissues just aren’t within reach.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
