11 Ways to Say Goodnight to Your Girlfriend over Text

1. The Classic Goodnight

Texting “Goodnight” or “Goodnight, sweet dreams” is simple, yet effective. Sometimes, a classic goodnight message can carry a lot of weight and remind your girlfriend that you are thinking about her before you drift off to sleep.

2. The Emoji Goodnight

A picture is worth a thousand words, and that can certainly be true when it comes to emojis. Send her a combination of emojis like the moon, stars, and a sleeping face to show her that it’s time for bed and wish her a restful night.

3. A Song Lyric

Sharing a few lines from a romantic or meaningful song lyric can be an intimate way to say goodnight. Just make sure the lyrics are relevant and convey your feelings for her as you both settle down for the night.

4. The Countdown

Let your girlfriend know that you are counting down the days, hours, or minutes until you see her again. This heartfelt message will leave her excited for your next meeting and eager for morning to arrive.

5. The Goodnight Poem or Quote

If you’re feeling extra creative, pen a short goodnight poem or share a famous quote about love and nighttime. This gesture shows that you not only connect with literature but also find it significant enough to share with her.

6. Sweet Dreams and Sleep Tight

Sending a variation of “sweet dreams” or “sleep tight” shows that you care about her relaxation and well-being. These traditional phrases have been used by loved ones for years to wish each other good rest.

7. The Virtual Kiss

Not able to give her an in-person kiss goodnight? Send one through text instead by simply writing “Sending you a goodnight kiss 😘.” It’s an affectionate reminder of your love before you both head off to bed.

8. A Compliment

Take this opportunity to remind your girlfriend of her best qualities and tell her how much you appreciate her. A heartfelt compliment can be the perfect end to her day, leaving her feeling loved and valued.

9. Gratitude for the Day

Thank your girlfriend for the day you spent together or for any special moment that happened between you. This will help strengthen your bond and remind her of the wonderful times you share.

10. The Candle and Rose Emoji

If emojis are more your style, send a combination of the candle emoji 🕯️ and rose emoji 🌹 to represent a romantic, relaxing environment. This gesture sets the tone for a peaceful night’s rest.

11. Words of Love

Tell your girlfriend that you love her one more time before bed. Sometimes hearing or reading those three little words is all it takes to sleep peacefully, knowing that they are loved and cared for.

Whatever method you choose to say goodnight to your girlfriend over text, remember that sincerity and thoughtfulness go a long way. Make an effort to show her that she is important in your life, even during those small moments before sleep.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
