1. Maintain your independence: While it’s essential to be there for your partner, ensure that you continue nurturing your own interests and hobbies. This will not only make you more interesting but also give both of you space for personal growth.

2. Keep the romance alive: Don’t let the excitement of getting comfortable with each other kill the spark. Flirt with your partner, surprise them with dates or unexpected gifts, and express your affection frequently.

3. Encourage personal goals: Support your partner in achieving their goals and dreams without trying to control or dictate their choices. It’s important to respect each other’s individuality even while you grow as a couple.

4. Anticipate change: Embrace the idea that both of you might change over time; learn from and adapt to these changes without becoming overly possessive or losing yourself in the process.

5. Show appreciation: Be vocal about acknowledging your partner’s efforts and qualities they bring into your relationship. Don’t take them for granted, as small expressions of gratitude can go a long way in keeping the bond strong.

6. Communicate openly: Set aside time for regular conversations where both of you can voice any concerns or discuss issues openly without fearing judgment or consequences.

7. Prioritize fun together: Make time for shared activities that both partners enjoy, bringing some light-heartedness into your relationship and helping create an environment where personal growth is encouraged.

8. Strong friendships: Encourage each other to maintain strong friendships outside of the relationship, which can provide emotional support and additional perspectives on life challenges.

9. Foster trust: Trust is essential in order for any relationship to thrive. Be honest with each other at all times, even when it’s difficult or uncomfortable, and avoid betraying that trust through deceit or manipulation.

10. Avoid parental behavior: Treat each other as equals and avoid taking on the role of a controlling or overbearing parent. This will foster mutual respect and create space for individuality within the relationship.

11. Embrace vulnerability: Share your true feelings, fears, and desires with your partner. This openness builds emotional intimacy and helps you bond on a deeper level while still maintaining a balance between commitment and independence.

By following these 11 ways to act like a girlfriend and not a wife, you can create a healthy, vibrant relationship that nurtures personal growth, preserves individuality, and reinforces the loving bond between partners.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
