1. Grilling: One of the most popular methods for cooking a chuck cross rib steak, grilling offers a delicious, smoky flavor. Simply season the steak with your choice of spices and grill on high heat for about 5 minutes on each side.

2. Broiling: If you don’t have access to a grill, broiling is an excellent alternative. Preheat your oven’s broiler, place the seasoned steak on a broiler pan, and cook for approximately 4-6 minutes per side.

3. Pan-searing: For a crispy, caramelized crust, try pan-searing your chuck cross rib steak in a hot skillet with oil or butter. Sear each side for 4-5 minutes for medium-rare or 5-7 minutes for medium.

4. Slow Cooker: Slow cookers offer an easy option to achieve tender meat that falls off the bone. Season your cross rib steak and place it in the slow cooker with your desired vegetables, and let it cook on low for 8 hours.

5. Sous Vide: Achieving precise temperature control is easy with sous vide cooking. Vacuum seal your seasoned steak and immerse it in a water bath set at 130°F for medium-rare or 140°F for medium. Cook for 1-3 hours before finishing with a quick sear on high heat.

6. Braising: Cooking the chuck cross rib steak in a small amount of liquid helps to break down the connective tissue and create a flavorful sauce along the way. Brown both sides of the meat in a large pot before adding wine, stock, or crushed tomatoes to braise over low heat for 2-3 hours.

7. Stewing: Similar to braising, stewing uses more liquid to create a thick gravy that pairs well with potatoes or rice. First brown the steak on both sides, then add vegetables and liquid, and simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours.

8. Roasting: Though it requires longer cooking time, roasting is a classic option for chuck cross rib steaks. Marinate the steak in your choice of ingredients and roast in a preheated oven at 325°F for about 1.5-2 hours.

9. Pressure Cooking: Pressure cookers can tenderize a tough cut like chuck cross rib steak in as little as 45 minutes. Season your steak, sauté both sides in the pressure cooker, then add the liquid and cook for 45 minutes to an hour.

10. Smoking: Impart a delicious, smoky flavor to your steak using a smoker. Season your chuck cross rib and smoke it at a temperature of 225-250°F for about 5 hours or until it reaches an internal temperature of 190-200°F.

Regardless of the method used, always remember to let your cooked chuck cross rib steak rest for at least ten minutes before cutting into it to prevent the loss of juiciness. With each of these unique methods, you’ll enjoy creating meals with incredible flavor and tenderness that are sure to impress your loved ones.
