Widgets are a great addition to the home screen of your iPhone or iPad, but what do you do when they stop working or updating? Here are 10 quick fixes for when widgets aren’t working on your iPhone or iPad.

1. Force close the app: Sometimes the app that the widget is associated with may not be functioning properly. Closing the app and reopening it may help kickstart the widget.

2. Restart your device: Restarting your iPhone or iPad can sometimes help resolve any internal issues that may be causing the widget to malfunction.

3. Uninstall and reinstall the app: If the widget is associated with an app, uninstalling and reinstalling the app can sometimes help resolve any issues with the widget.

4. Verify that the widget is compatible with your device: Double-check that the widget you are using is compatible with your device’s operating system and that it’s not outdated.

5. Check your internet connection: If the widget requires an internet connection to update, make sure that you have a stable connection.

6. Clear the app cache: Clearing the app cache associated with the widget can help resolve any issues that may be causing it to malfunction.

7. Disable and enable the widget: Try disabling and enabling the widget from the home screen to see if it kickstarts it to work properly.

8. Check if there’s an update available: The widget’s app may have an update that you haven’t yet installed. Check if there’s an update available and install it if there is.

9. Reset your device’s settings: Resetting your device’s settings can help resolve any internal issues that may be causing the widget to malfunction.

10. Contact the app developer: If none of the above solutions work, contact the app developer for assistance. They may have specific instructions on how to resolve any issues with the widget.

By trying out some of these quick fixes, you can get your widgets back up and running in no time on your iPhone or iPad.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
