Star Trek: Voyager navigates through the Delta Quadrant, and among its diverse crew is the charming and sometimes rebellious pilot Tom Paris. With his intriguing backstory as a former convict and his growth into a vital member of the Voyager team, Paris has delivered some of the series’ most memorable moments. Here’s a look at the ten best Tom Paris episodes that showcase his character development, heroics, and depth.

.”Caretaker” (Season 1, Episodes 1 & 2) – As the pilot that kicks off ‘Voyager’s journey back home, “Caretaker” introduces us to Tom Paris, whose checkered past with Starfleet provides a gritty starting point for his character’s redemption arc.

.”Threshold” (Season 2, Episode 15) – Despite its controversial premise involving warp speed evolution, “Threshold” is a pivotal episode for Paris as it pushes the limits of his abilities and gives him a chance to be the first to break the warp 10 barrier.

.”Vis à Vis” (Season 4, Episode 20) – This episode puts Paris’s identity in question when a species capable of swapping bodies takes his place. We see an introspective side of Paris as he confronts issues about his sense of self and his relationship with B’Elanna Torres.

.”Thirty Days” (Season 5, Episode 9) – Tom faces tough consequences when he disobeys orders to save an ocean planet. This episode highlights his strong moral compass and willingness to face punishment for doing what he believes is right.

.”Day of Honor” (Season 4, Episode 3) – As Paris supports B’Elanna during her Day of Honor, their relationship deepens. The episode culminates in a momentous scene where they confess their love while stranded in space.

.”Investigations” (Season 2, Episode 20) – In this episode that centers around a spy on Voyager, Paris’s loyalties are tested. His actions ultimately lead to uncovering the truth and demonstrate his unwavering dedication to Captain Janeway.

.”Drive” (Season 7, Episode 3) – Combining his love for racing with romantic undertones involving B’Elanna, “Drive” features Paris in a high-stakes race that serves as an allegory for his own personal journey on Voyager.

.”Alice” (Season 6, Episode 5) – This episode showcases another aspect of Paris’ passion for piloting when he becomes obsessed with restoring an old shuttle named Alice. His attachment to Alice explores issues of control and addiction.

.”Fair Haven” (Season 6, Episode 11) – This light-hearted episode provides insight into Paris’s creativity as he programs and interacts with holographic characters in an Irish village simulation; it also underscores how crew members seek solace in entertainment to cope with their long journey.

.”Life Line” (Season 6, Episodes 24) – While not exclusively focused on Tom Paris, this episode demonstrates his growth from renegade pilot to dependable officer as he assists The Doctor on a crucial mission to save one of Starfleet’s most renowned cyberneticists.

Tom Paris’s charm, wit, and bravery shine through these episodes, making them some of the best viewing experiences for fans who appreciate his development throughout Star Trek: Voyager’s interstellar odyssey.
