Los Angeles may not be the first city that comes to mind when you think of winter activities, given its sunny skies and palm trees, but the City of Angels offers a plethora of exciting options for locals and visitors alike during the cooler months. From holiday lights to outdoor ice skating, here’s a list of 10 best things to do this winter in LA.

.Visit the L.A. Zoo Lights: After hours at the Los Angeles Zoo, walk through a magical lighting display that transforms the zoo into a winter wonderland, complete with real reindeer sightings.

.Ice Skate at Pershing Square: Enjoy skating in the heart of downtown Los Angeles with the stunning skyline serving as a backdrop at Holiday Ice Rink Pershing Square.

.Griffith Park Holiday Train Ride: Hop aboard for an enchanting night ride through Griffith Park on the festively decorated trains.

.Explore The Getty Center: Winter is a perfect time to stroll around The Getty Center gardens, admire the view of Los Angeles, and enjoy the art collections indoors without the usual crowds.

.Attend The Nutcracker Ballet: Join Clara on her journey through a magical world by seeing The Nutcracker performed by local ballet companies of Los Angeles.

.Cruise the Venice Canals: Take a calming walk around Venice’s beautiful canals extensively decorated for the holidays- it’s like stepping into a small European Christmas village.

.See Holiday Movies at El Capitan Theatre: Have an old-fashioned holiday experience watching classic movies in an ornate theater that goes all out for Christmas.

.Shop at Unique LA Holiday Market: Find unique gifts while supporting local businesses at this large independent design show which features 100+ handpicked vendors.

.California Science Center’s Annual Exhibit: Visit special seasonal exhibits at this remarkable museum and take part in multiple interactive displays meant to educate and entertain.

.Malibu Wine Safaris: For those looking for a more unconventional experience, embark on a safari tour in Malibu while enjoying fine wines among scenic vineyards, with surprise visits from exotic animals like giraffes and zebras.
