The world of television is vast and varied, offering viewers a multitude of genres to explore. Among these are shows that delve into the supernatural, particularly those centered around witches. These programs come in many forms—from chilling horror series to lighthearted comedies—and appeal to a wide range of audiences. Based on IMDb ratings, which serve as a universal barometer for the popularity and quality of TV shows, here’s a list of the 10 best shows about witches.

.”Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (1997-2003) – While primarily focused on vampires, Buffy’s universe is rich with powerful witches like Willow Rosenberg. With an IMDb rating of 8.2, this show won hearts for its action, drama, and unforgettable characters.

.”Charmed” (1998-2006) – Following the Halliwell sisters who discover they are powerful witches destined to fight against evil forces, this show has an IMDb rating of 7.1 and has since become a cult classic.

.”Sabrina the Teenage Witch” (1996-2003) – A light-hearted take on witchcraft following high schooler Sabrina Spellman, the show has been charming audiences for years and stands at a 6.7 on IMDb.

.”American Horror Story: Coven” (2013) – The third season of this anthology series focuses solely on witches and earned itself an impressive 8.0 IMDb rating.

.”The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” (2018-2020) – A darker reimagining of the Sabrina narrative scored an IMDb rating of 7.4 and attracted viewers with its modern take on witchcraft and feminist themes.

.”Salem” (2014-2017) – This historical fantasy series reinterprets the infamous witch trials with a supernatural twist and has an IMDb rating of 7.2.

.”Penny Dreadful” (2014-2016) – Though not exclusively about witches, this gothic horror series includes them in its tapestry of horror myths and holds an IMDb rating of 8.2.

.”True Blood” (2008-2014) – With witches becoming prominent in later seasons, this ensemble supernatural show ranks with a strong 7.8 on IMDb.

.”Witches of East End” (2013-2014) – Following two sisters who uncover their family’s magical secrets, this show captured audiences with its drama and narrative twists, raking in a 7.6 on IMDb.

.”A Discovery of Witches” (2018-) – Based on Deborah Harkness’ ‘All Souls’ trilogy, this British series blends romance with fantasy and has earned a robust 8.1 rating on IMDb.

These shows stand out not only for their portrayals of witchcraft but also for their storytelling prowess and exceptional casts, managing to cast spells over viewers time and again with their magical plots and otherworldly adventures.
