Seattle may be known for its iconic Space Needle and vibrant Pike Place Market, but locals and visitors alike will tell you that the Emerald City is also home to some of the best bagels outside of New York. Whether you’re in search of that perfect chewy interior, a crispy crust, or innovative flavor combinations, Seattle’s bagel shops have it all.

One must-visit spot is Loxsmith Bagels, where hand-rolled bagels are made fresh daily. Known for their traditional techniques, Loxsmith offers a variety of classic flavors like sesame and poppy seed, as well as unique options such as za’atar and Maldon salt. Their signature lox bagel sandwich is a local favorite.

Bagel Oasis, operating in the Ravenna neighborhood since 1988, is another institution. It offers an authentic East Coast-style bagel experience, right down to the kettle boiling and baking on burlap-covered boards. With a generous selection of spreads and toppings alongside their dense, flavorful bagels, this place serves up a little slice of bagel heaven.

For those looking for organic ingredients, Blazing Bagels is the place to go. In addition to their robust standard menu, they feature a rotating list of specials that keep customers coming back. From savory everything bagels to sweet cinnamon-raisin options, Blazing Bagels caters to every palate.

Meanwhile, Eltana Wood-Fired Bagel Café puts a unique twist on traditional bagel recipes with their smaller, wood-fired creations. The menu here boasts spreads like honey-rosemary cream cheese and bold flavors like the Moroccan spice-topped Marrakech bagel.

Rounding out our tour of top-notch Seattle bagelries is Seattle Bagel Bakery. Focused on creating kettle-boiled bagels that highlight simple ingredients and artisanal quality, they’ve mastered textures that satisfy both crunch enthusiasts and those who savor a softer chew.

Each of these establishments reflects the diversity of Seattle’s food scene by offering up their own take on the humble bagel. With so many options available across the city, residents and tourists will find no shortage of places to indulge in one of America’s favorite comfort foods. Whether you prefer your bagel with a schmear of cream cheese or as the base for a loaded sandwich bursting with flavors, Seattle’s best bagel shops stand ready to satisfy your craving.
