Traveling with medication requires careful planning to ensure you have what you need and comply with travel regulations. Here are some tips for the best and safest way to travel with medication:

  1. Keep medications in original packaging: This helps identify the medication and proves it’s prescribed to you.
  2. Carry a copy of your prescription: Have a letter from your doctor explaining your condition and medications.
  3. Pack in carry-on luggage: Never put medications in checked baggage to avoid loss or delay.
  4. Check travel restrictions: Some countries have strict rules about bringing in certain medications.
  5. Bring extra: Pack more medication than you think you’ll need in case of travel delays.
  6. Use pill organizers carefully: While convenient, keep the original bottles as well.
  7. Consider temperature sensitivity: Some medications need to be kept cool. Use insulated containers if necessary.
  8. Declare medications at customs: Be upfront about any medications you’re carrying.
  9. Research local equivalents: Know the generic names of your medications in case you need to refill abroad.
  10. Carry a medical alert card or bracelet: This is crucial for emergency situations.

Remember, regulations can vary by country and airline, so always check specific rules before traveling. When in doubt, consult with your doctor or a travel clinic for personalized advice.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
