What Does “This Person Is Unavailable on Messenger” Mean? How to Fix It

If you use Facebook Messenger regularly, you may have come across the message “This person is unavailable on Messenger” while trying to send a message to one of your contacts. It can be frustrating, especially if you need to communicate with that person urgently.

What does “This person is unavailable on Messenger” mean?

The message “This person is unavailable on Messenger” is quite self-explanatory. It simply means that the person you are trying to reach is unavailable on Messenger at the moment. There could be several reasons behind it. They may have logged out of Messenger, turned off their internet connection, or set their status to “invisible.”

In some cases, the person might have also removed or blocked you from their Facebook Messenger contacts. If that’s the case, you won’t be able to message them until they unblock you or add you back as a contact.

How to fix it?

If you receive the “unavailable on Messenger” message repeatedly, there are a few things you can do to ensure you can communicate with your contact:

1. Check your internet connection

Ensure that your internet connection is stable and working correctly. Messenger requires a stable internet connection, and if you have poor connectivity or no internet, you may not be able to send or receive messages.

2. Verify the status of the person

Check the status of the person you want to message. If they have set their status to “Invisible,” you might not be able to see them online or contact them.

3. Check your Messenger Settings

If you have blocked the person by mistake or turned off notifications for their messages, it is advisable to check your Messenger settings. You can change your notification settings or unblock them to ensure that you can communicate with them.

4. Contact the person through other platforms.

If you cannot reach the person you are trying to contact through Messenger, try other platforms like email, phone, or SMS if you have the person’s number. They may be available on these platforms and may respond to your message much quicker.
