The best fall road trips to take from Vancouver weave through the breathtaking landscapes of British Columbia and its neighboring regions, offering a stunning display of autumnal colors, crisp air, and an array of enjoyable activities. Here are a few top recommendations for those ready to hit the road:

1.Sea-to-Sky Highway to Whistler: A classic drive that never disappoints is the trip to Whistler along the Sea-to-Sky Highway (Highway 99). As you travel, you will be treated to vistas of the ocean, towering mountains, and lush forests. Upon reaching Whistler, explore hiking trails or soak in the Scandanave Spa during the fall season.

2.Okanagan Valley: Head east to the wine country of British Columbia. The Okanagan Valley offers an abundance of wineries whose vineyard views are particularly stunning with fall foliage. Revel in wine tours and tastings, and don’t forget to stop at fruit stands along the way for farm-fresh produce.

3.Vancouver Island: Catch a ferry over to Vancouver Island and meander your way up the east coast. Enjoy stops at charming towns like Nanaimo and Parksville before reaching Comox Valley. Here you can experience farmers’ markets full of autumn harvests and perhaps extend your trip out to Tofino for storm watching on the wild west coast.

4.Harrison Hot Springs: For a shorter trip, drive towards Harrison Hot Springs about two hours east of Vancouver. Autumn brings fewer crowds, making it the perfect time to relax in the mineral pools or take peaceful walks along Harrison Lake surrounded by changing leaves.

5.Manning Provincial Park: Head towards Hope and then into Manning Provincial Park for a nature-filled excursion. This park offers numerous hiking trails that show off golden larches and alpine landscapes in their fall splendor.

Each of these road trips from Vancouver will provide a mix of relaxation, adventure, and stunning scenery quintessential to the Pacific Northwest’s autumn season.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
