The on-screen keyboard in Windows 10 is a useful feature that allows users to type using a mouse, touch screen or other pointing device. However, it can be frustrating when the on-screen keyboard is not working as it should. Fortunately, there are several ways to fix the issue and get back to typing with ease.

1. Restart Your Computer

Sometimes the simplest solution is the most effective. Try restarting your computer to see if this helps to fix the on-screen keyboard issue. This can often clear up any glitches or bugs that may be causing the problem.

2. Check Your Settings

If the on-screen keyboard is not popping up when it should, check your settings to make sure it is turned on. To check your settings, go to “Settings” > “Ease of Access” > “Keyboard” and make sure the toggle switch for “On-screen keyboard” is turned on.

3. Update Your Drivers

Outdated or missing drivers can also cause problems with the on-screen keyboard. To update your drivers, go to “Device Manager” and find the keyboard driver. Right-click on it and choose “Update driver” to see if a new version is available.

4. Run the Keyboard Troubleshooter

Windows 10 has a built-in keyboard troubleshooter that can help identify and fix any issues with the on-screen keyboard. To use the troubleshooter, go to “Settings” > “Update & Security” > “Troubleshoot” > “Keyboard” and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.

5. Use a Third-Party Keyboard

If none of the above solutions work, consider using a third-party keyboard instead of the Windows 10 on-screen keyboard. There are many third-party keyboards available that offer a variety of features and functionality.

In conclusion, the on-screen keyboard in Windows 10 can be a useful tool, but when it is not working correctly, it can be very frustrating. By trying these different solutions, you should be able to identify and fix any issues that may be causing the problem. If all else fails, try using a third-party keyboard to get back to typing with ease.
