Are you struggling with file uploads on Discord? Fret not! Here’s a concise guide to troubleshoot and resolve this vexing issue.

1. Check Discord’s Status: Before diving into complicated fixes, verify if Discord’s services are operational by checking their status page. Downtime can often prevent file uploads.

2. Examine File Size and Type: Ensure the file you’re attempting to upload adheres to Discord’s size limitations, which is 8MB for standard users or 50MB for Nitro subscribers. Also, make sure it’s a supported file type.

3. Reset Your Internet Connection: Occasionally, a simple reset of your internet connection can solve the problem. Try restarting your router or switching from Wi-Fi to a mobile data connection.

4. Run Discord as Administrator: On Windows, right-click the Discord icon and select “Run as administrator.” This action grants the app permissions it might need to function correctly.

5. Clear Discord Cache: Cached data might get corrupted, causing issues with file uploads. Clearing Discord’s cache may resolve this issue.

6. Disable Firewall or Antivirus Temporarily: At times, firewall or antivirus settings might block file uploads on Discord. Disable these applications briefly to check if they’re the culprits.

7. Reinstall Discord: If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall the application. A fresh install can rectify unexpected glitches preventing file uploads.

By following these seven fixes, you should be able to resume uploading files on Discord smoothly and continue your interactions without interruption.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
