This Taco Bell Discontinued Menu Item Is Back After Nearly a Decade

After almost a decade off the menu, Taco Bell has delighted fans by bringing back one of its most popular discontinued items. The beloved Mexican Pizza, a fan-favorite since its introduction in the early 1990s, is officially making a return to Taco Bell’s menu.

The Mexican Pizza, last seen on menus nationwide in 2011, features a double layer of crispy tortillas filled with seasoned beef, beans, and melted cheese. It’s then generously topped with tangy pizza sauce, tomatoes, and an extra sprinkle of cheese to create a mouthwatering fusion of flavors.

Social media users have long campaigned for the return of this crowd-pleaser, with Facebook groups and online petitions dedicated to bringing back the Mexican Pizza. In response to their fervent requests, Taco Bell decided to reintroduce the well-loved entree back onto its menu.

A representative from Taco Bell stated that they acknowledged the passion customers have shown for the Mexican Pizza over the years. They added that its return was not only meant to satisfy cravings but also to attract new fans who may have missed out on this iconic offering during its absence from the menu.

The re-launch comes amid a wave of other nostalgic returns across various fast-food chains. As consumers increasingly crave comfort foods during uncertain times, restaurants are reintroducing old favorites as well as coming up with innovative menu additions.

And while fast-food enthusiasts are rejoicing over this development, environmentalists are questioning it due to concerns about single-use packaging waste. The Mexican Pizza was initially removed from Taco Bell’s menus as part of their commitment to reducing waste by transitioning away from disposable packaging.

Despite these concerns, there is no denying that the return of Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza will be met with excitement and anticipation. Fans can now add this scrumptious creation back into their rotation of go-to fast-food options, giving them another reason to frequent their favorite Taco Bell location. For those who have never tried the Mexican Pizza before, now is the time to take advantage of its comeback and enjoy this tasty cult classic.
