These beach towns were named the best in New Jersey

New Jersey, often referred to as the Garden State, boasts more than just greenery and gardens. This coastal state is famous for its beautiful beach towns, attracting visitors from all around to bask in the sun and enjoy the Atlantic breeze. Recently, several of these shore towns were awarded the title of “Best in New Jersey,” a tribute to their charm, amenities, and the unique experiences they offer.

At the top of the list is Cape May, known for its picturesque Victorian homes and historical ambiance. Cape May is not only great for relaxing on the beach but also for those interested in architecture or history. It’s one of the oldest resort destinations in America with a promenade that is perfect for an evening stroll.

Following close behind is Ocean City. It’s an ideal family destination with an alcohol-free boardwalk, eight miles of pristine beach, and plenty of amusements. Ocean City has something for everyone – from mini-golf to water parks and even a music pier that hosts events throughout the summer.

Spring Lake offers a more tranquil retreat, characterized by its quiet beaches, bed and breakfast accommodations, and two-mile-long non-commercial boardwalk. The town’s serene environment makes it perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle.

Wildwood, on the other hand, is where you go when you’re looking for excitement. The town’s famous boardwalk has more rides than Disneyland, including several high-speed roller coasters and multiple water parks. Wildwood also hosts events all summer long that range from music festivals to monster truck rallies.

Asbury Park re-establishes itself as a cultural hub with its vibrant art scene and lively boardwalk filled with eateries and entertainment venues. Its sandy beaches invite relaxation while venues like The Stone Pony bring live music into the limelight.

Stone Harbor strikes a balance between nature and leisurely retail experience – offering high-end shopping against a backdrop of dunes and protected wetlands. The beaches here are loved by families seeking a quiet day by the sea as well as by nature enthusiasts eager to explore trails at nearby wildlife preserves.

Each of these shining New Jersey beach towns has earned its place at the top through its distinct character and activities that cater to every kind of beachgoer – solidifying their status as some of the best places to visit along the Jersey Shore.
