Dealing with stubborn grease and oil stains can be challenging, but with the right techniques, you can salvage your favorite garments:

  1. Dish Soap Method
    • Apply liquid dish soap directly to the stain
    • Gently work it into the fabric with your fingers
    • Let it sit for 5-10 minutes before washing as usual
  2. Baking Soda Paste
    • Mix baking soda with water to form a paste
    • Apply to the stain and let it sit for 15-20 minutes
    • Brush off and wash normally
  3. White Vinegar Soak
    • Soak the stained area in white vinegar for 15-30 minutes
    • Wash in the hottest water safe for the fabric
  4. Cornstarch or Baby Powder Absorption
    • Sprinkle cornstarch or baby powder on fresh stains
    • Let it sit for 15-30 minutes to absorb the oil
    • Brush off and treat with dish soap before washing
  5. Enzyme-Based Stain Remover
    • Apply a commercial enzyme-based stain remover
    • Follow the product instructions for best results
  6. Chalk Method (for fresh stains)
    • Rub white chalk over the stain to absorb the grease
    • Let it sit for a few minutes before washing

Remember to always check the care label and test any method on an inconspicuous area first. For delicate fabrics, consider professional dry cleaning.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
