Hawaii is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on your preferences and priorities. Here’s a breakdown:

  1. Weather:
    • Best overall: April to October (dry season)
    • Wettest: November to March
  2. Crowds:
    • Least crowded: Mid-April to mid-June, September to mid-December
    • Most crowded: Summer (June-August), Winter holidays (mid-December to mid-January)
  3. Prices:
    • Lowest: Mid-April to mid-June, September to mid-December
    • Highest: Peak seasons (Summer and Winter holidays)
  4. Activities:
    • Surfing (big waves): November to February
    • Whale watching: December to May (peak in February)
    • Hiking: April to October (drier trails)
  5. Events:
    • Merrie Monarch Festival (Hula): April
    • Aloha Festivals: September
    • Hawaii Food & Wine Festival: October
  6. Island-specific considerations:
    • Big Island: Year-round (minimal weather variations)
    • Maui: April-May, September-November for ideal conditions
    • Oahu: April-June, September-mid-December for fewer crowds
    • Kauai: April-June, September-November for best weather and prices

Overall, the shoulder seasons of April-May and September-October offer the best combination of good weather, fewer crowds, and lower prices for most visitors.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
