Los Angeles, a sprawling Southern California city, is renowned for its iconic Hollywood sign, studios such as Paramount Pictures, Universal and Warner Brothers, and as the home of countless celebrities and artists. With only one day to take in this vibrant city, planning is crucial to experiencing the best of L.A. Here’s a comprehensive itinerary to make the most of 24 hours in the City of Angels.

Morning: Hollywood Walk of Fame & TCL Chinese Theatre

Start your L.A. adventure at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Stroll along Hollywood Boulevard and spot the stars of your favorite entertainers on this famous sidewalk. After taking in some snaps with legendary names under your feet, head to the TCL Chinese Theatre. This historic movie palace is known for its collection of handprints, footprints, and autographs from stars in its concrete forecourt.

Brunch: The Griddle Café

Next, it’s time for brunch at The Griddle Café on Sunset Boulevard, famous for its oversized pancakes and innovative menu items. Make sure you arrive early as this popular spot can attract long lines but it’s worth the wait!

Afternoon: Griffith Observatory & Santa Monica Pier

After brunch, drive up to Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park. From here, get some great views of the Hollywood Sign and panoramic sights of Los Angeles. Inside the observatory, there are fascinating exhibits on space and science.

Drive down to Santa Monica in the early afternoon for a visit to the iconic Santa Monica Pier. Ride on the solar-powered Ferris wheel at Pacific Park or just enjoy walking around and taking in the sights and sounds of ocean-front street performers.

Late Afternoon: Shopping at Rodeo Drive

Los Angeles isn’t complete without some shopping—or at least window shopping—on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Spend late afternoon browsing luxury shops and soaking up the glamorous atmosphere in this famous fashion district.

Evening: Sunset Dinner & Drinks at Venice Beach

For dinner, head over to Venice Beach where you can find a wide array of delightful dining spots with ocean views just perfect for catching the sunset. After dinner, walk along Abbot Kinney Boulevard for some after-dinner drinks and experience the unique nightlife vibe.

Night: See L.A.’s Downtown Skyline

End your day with a grand view of Los Angeles by night at one of Downtown L.A.’s skyscrapers with public observation decks or bars. Sip on a cocktail while taking in the city lights from above.

With careful timing and transportation arrangements (consider ride-sharing services to save on parking hassles), you can enjoy an eclectic mix of what Los Angeles has to offer all within one day!
