Sending large files can be an immense challenge, especially if the files exceed the attachment limit on your email account or if you are dealing with big files like videos, high-resolution images, or multimedia projects. Luckily, there are many free programs and online services that make it easy to share and transfer large files.

1. WeTransfer – WeTransfer is a web-based service that allows users to send files up to 2GB for free. The service has a simple and intuitive interface that allows you to drag and drop files to send them. WeTransfer is also available as a desktop application and mobile app, making it easy to access your files on the go.

2. Dropbox – Dropbox is a free online storage service that allows you to upload and share files with others. The free version of Dropbox offers up to 2GB of storage space, and you can share files with others by creating a link or sending an email invitation. Dropbox also has a desktop application and mobile app, making it easy to access your files from anywhere.

3. Google Drive – Google Drive provides users with up to 15GB of free storage space and allows you to share files and folders with others. With Google Drive, you can upload files up to 5TB in size, making it an excellent option for large video files or other multimedia projects. Google Drive also integrates with other Google services like Google Docs and Google Sheets.

4. Microsoft OneDrive – Microsoft OneDrive is another online storage service that offers up to 5GB of free storage space. With OneDrive, you can upload and share files with others, and the service also integrates with other Microsoft products like Office 365 and Skype. OneDrive also has a mobile app and desktop application, making it easy to access your files on any device.

5. Hightail – Hightail is a file-sharing service that allows you to send files up to 100MB for free. Hightail also has a Pro version that offers additional features like the ability to send files up to 25GB and password protection. Hightail provides users with a secure link that can be sent via email or through social media, making it easy to share files with others.

Conclusion

Sharing large files can be a hassle, but with the free programs and online services available, it doesn’t have to be. Whether you choose WeTransfer, Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, or Hightail, you can easily share and transfer large files without any fuss. These services offer excellent features, making it easy to send files, collaborate with others, and access your files on any device. So, choose the service that best suits your needs and start sharing large files with ease.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
